Inspiration for a Catholic Life

Mary, give me your Heart: so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate; your Heart so full of love and humility that I may be able to receive Jesus in the Bread of Life and love Him as you love Him and serve Him in the distressing guise of the poor.

There is a sense in which “secular” is a euphemism for exclusion of God. Perhaps the exceptional degree of comfort that so many feel today with what is “politically correct” instead of what is “morally right” derives from the more fundamental rejection of the First Commandment and the claim that God is, God speaks to us, God places a claim on our lives, our conscience and our hearts. Rather than face this reality and the obligations that follow upon it, for some it is easier just to ignore the possibility of a living God.

Little things done out of love are those that charm the Heart of Christ… On the contrary, the most brilliant deeds, when done without love, are but nothingness.

It is the boast of the Catholic religion that it has the gift of making the young heart chaste; and why is this but that it gives us Jesus Christ for our food, and Mary for our nursing Mother
